This is the double fireplace in the lodge at Dorchester Plantation where I went quail hunting the other day. You can sit on either side of it & it was just as pretty on the other side as the one you see here. I love a real fireplace!! I couldn't resist taking a picture of the big old piney-wood-rooter's head! Wouldn't it be great to have a head like that hangin in your livin room!!!

How fun to be able to sit by the fireplace. :) I think that head would scare me early in the morning! LOL.

Tina, what a great fireplace. It is nice to sit by a crackling fire. I always love it when they have one going at a Cracker Barrel. We heat with wood, but it is a closed stove with no window. I love to watch the flames.

Now that's a fireplace! I also love a crackling fire and would love to have either a fireplace or woodstove for those cold winter's evening.

Love the head even though he's pretty scary looking!

Have you heard of Hogzilla down in Alapaha, Georgia? He was a big hog!

Did you have a quail supper?

I don't think I would like to sit in the room with him in the dark. One of these nearly killed 3 of our little Feists when Larry went squirrel hunting down in LA swamps with a cajun. the Feists would not quit and the hog would nto either. My Bell got her tail broke when he bit it. so I don't like them.

I need one of those heads! Wonder if I could find one on ebay? I've got an uncle who, years back, told his kindergarten class that he was an old warthog who lived in a hollow log. I've called him uncle Warthog ever since.

Sounds like you had an enjoyable time!

Hey Tina,
Glad you came by.....Yes, I have lots of pictures I plant to post this coming week, Lord willing. Bellingrath is a beautiful place and the river boat ride was pleasant also.

I like the fire place, but don't like the ugly hog. That would scare the living day lights out of me!!!!
