I have not been able to take a picture of the mother to these eggs. The unphotogenic brown thrasher doesn't want her picture taken. In no time these eggs will be hatched and the young will raise quickly. They will become part of the bird society here on our farm. How will their life be I wonder? I awoke early this morning. I dreamed about my grown boys all night. I think about where they are in their lives right now compared to my husband and I when we were their age. Oh this is a rough world, so full of wrong roads to turn on. Our culture has desensitized our children. Things that are just plain wrong have been twisted so much that wrong looks right now. Satan is working overtime on our children because his time is limited! I have been convicted about my prayer life of late. Holy Spirit has brought to my attention that I HAVE TO BE MORE INTENTIONAL about my praying. You can never pray enough for your children! I challenge you today to pray for your babies, it doesnt matter how old they are. Be intentional about the specifics of their life. Pray for godly mates, it doesnt matter if they are toddlers! Pray for salvation and if they are saved pray that they are serving! Always Always pray for their protection!!

Work on your day off? It was time to spray and time to fertilize today. The wind was calm so my husband spent the morning spraying the pecan trees. This afternoon we fertilized the new trees. Because the new trees are so small we have to fertilize them by hand. The bigger trees can be fertilized with the spreader on a smaller tractor. It was hot today but by afternoon a nice breeze was blowing making the outside work bearable."And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it." Genesis 2:15. The word "dress" in Hebrew means to "work, toil". The "Tina"version to that means, God meant for folks to work! As bad as I hate it, the word "retirement" is not mentioned in the Bible. So from the beginning, God meant for people to work. I am thankful for what God has given me to work and the ability and knowledge to accomplish it.

This is what we had to eat last Saturday! Fresh bacon fried and a perty tomato equals A mighty fine BLT!! Yes we drink out of Mason jars too! I am ashamed to say I had never made a Banana pudding until last Saturday. It turned out really good. Anyone who has spent any time around me knows that I love good food! I love to cook it too. I think I learned from my Mama that there is a certain gratification in preparing a good meal or baking something from scratch. So many women my age have lost that standard in the world of fast food. My Mama taught me to always eat at the table. There is something to be said about a family who eats a home cooked meal together at their table. What a blessing!

As you can see, I only got a few things from the corner produce man. I cooked up some of the squash the same day and of course I couldn't resist having a BLT for lunch! We have several tomato plants planted but they have not produced fruit yet. I cant wait! What a blessing to have fresh veggies!

The "thing" is just pretty to me. My husband and I marveled at it yesterday morning. We watched the hornets take turns guarding the hole that leads inside. What do you reckon it looks like inside....what are they doing in there...how many hornets are living there? How did they make that "thing"? I guess sin starts that way in our lives. It looks good from the outside. Sin is attractive. You can rationalize all you want but sin will bite you before it is all over with. In most cases, sin will be like this hornet's nest...it will have a lot of bite in it! Sometimes sin just makes you swell a little and you think well that hurt but it wasn't so bad, but if you keep getting bit over and over....it's called anaphylactic shock...without quick treatment you die! The wages of sin is death....the cure is Jesus (Romans 6:23). He gave us a way out of the hornet's nest...confess with your mouth Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Rm 10:9-10). Well I aint stickin my eye up to that hole to see whats going on but I am thankful for its beauty and what it reminds me of. Share Jesus today, bring The Cure to someone who's dying from the anaphylaxis of sin.

I have been invaded! During one of my "porch sittins" last week I noticed a big "thing" in between two porch railings. As I was looking at it from behind, I decided it was a piece of knotty wood that someone must have stuck in between the railings for support. (I know that sounds really retarded). I even rapped on it with my fist. I made a mental note to ask my husband when he was home. So today I got my answer....a HORNET'S NEST!! Stupid me. When looking at the picture of the porch you can see it in the far left corner of the railing. Despite the danger of the "thing" I think it is very beautiful. The swirls of the nest match the wood railings in exact color. How strange. I am not sure how my husband will remove it or when, so I have decided, for safety reasons,I will move my "porch sittin" to the back! There is a moral to this story but I will wait till tomorrow to tell it!

These are birds but not of the same feather...but look, are they not flocking together? If I had waited just a minute more several cardinals would have appeared at the feeder. My ducks frequently follow my Tom Turkey around on the property. My turkey follows my husband & I around. Often at night, Turk and my dog Gandalf sleep near one another. It is a strange arrangement but one I dont mind. I have been blessed all my life to have been around and cared for many of Gods creatures. "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Math 6:26. ...And HE thinks I am more important than them! What a Blessing !

The Art of Blogging......this has become a little bit of an obsession for me and it is my Mama's fault. After visiting a web site a few months back I have been exposed to a whole new world! I had no idea there were so many women out there who had the same interests and values as me. I have been on the internet more than I ever have since getting on line in 1995. This morning I have visited several new blogs, two were from women in other countries who love God and their home. How neat! Starting a blog has been a task for me, I didnt even know how to leave a comment on a blog until just recently! So what is the purpose of a blog anyway? It looks like a way of self expression. Again I am amazed! What kind of dark age have I come from that my Mama has to introduce me to the world of "Posts, Forums, and Links"? LOL! Well I have to say I have been blessed by the world of blogs. I would have never thought that God could get glory from such an unfamiliar thing. I took this pic Saturday of my pet turkey. He seemed to really like the water sprinkler!

Humming Bird's are magical to me. In the evenings I like to sit on my porch & watch them feed. So tiny...I want to hold one.

Just one of God's many creatures and for some reason He chooses to bless me by sending these little things to visit me daily. Wow!

Well God gets honor, praise and glory! Last night we got 9/10 of an inch of rain! My friend BG likes to say this, "God is good all the time, All the time God is good!". Aint it the truth!

Nair-ree a lick of Rain!! That's my southern way of saying "No precipitaion has occured in this area". The farms are suffering here because of a lack of rain. So far, we have only received 9 inches of rain this entire year. The corn on the farms near me has already started to twist. A site I hate to see. Our pecan crop will be slim pickins this year, despite our daily irrigation efforts. The last two growing seasons have been altered greatly due to the horrific hurricane seasons. In 2004 we lost many trees because of the wind and rain. 2005 was only a little better. This year the tree's crop will be smaller from the lack of sun during the 2004 & 2005 growing season. I reckon our spiritual lives are the same way. Jesus is our water. When we fail to take in enough of Him, we twist like un-watered corn, we cant grow and most importantly, we have poor fruit or none at all. My husband and I look at the weather channel everyday in hopes the forecaster might tell of some rain coming our way. I am glad that my spiritual WATER is predictable. I can tune in to Jesus anytime and get a belly full of that Eternal Water! There is no need for my crop to suffer but.....you can lead a horse to the water but you cant make him drink. Jesus want force Himself on us. His water is free and it quenches the thirst. These pictures are of a storm that was coming in. We only received 8/10's of an inch that day but we were thankful. If my pet turkey could talk, I bet he would tell you that rain is a blessing...that perfect water sent from God above!
