AINT NUTHIN LIKE A GOOD FISHIN TRIP!!!!

Danny & I went fishin last week at a slew off the Altamaha river. We didn't get to start fishin until after 4 p.m. and quit about 7 O'clock. As you can see we caught a nice mess of fish. Mostly bream, a few nice blue gill, one white perch, and several nice catfish. Over 30 fish (and that aint countin the little ones we threw back) in less than 3 hours! Yall that is fun!! I have been fishin with this man for 17 years and there have been times that he takes things a little too serious. When the river gets low, often we have run up on a sand bar, or come to a spot where a tree is over the length of the slew, it aint nuthin for Danny to strip his clothes off...get out of the boat & pull it to the destination of his choice & then get dressed again. Sounds extreme but he always catches fish!! Oh & dont get a fishin lure stuck in a stump or a tree & think your gonna leave it there.....OH NO!! You gotta strip down & go get it! "Them things cost money", he says! River fishin is always tricky and ALWAYS an ADVENTURE!! I love to go and despite Danny's "Seriousness" I love going with him. When we got married, part of our vows should have been...."through sickness and health, high river or low river, when the fish are biting and when they are not....do you take this man....". AHHHH...aint that sweet!

"SHOW & TELL" AT KELLI'S HOUSE TODAY!

Kelli at "There is No Place Like Home" is hosting a "Show & Tell" day. So here is my show & tell item.

This is part of a tea set that was given to my Mama from my Daddy. The set only includes 6 cups & saucers, 6 salad size plates, the tea pot, and the cream and sugar bowl. I always remember it being packed up in a box in storage. Mama never cared for it much and frankly there was no use for hot tea in hot Alabama. I admired it as a child. When my parents divorced, some how my Daddy ended up with it. A few years ago I went to visit Daddy & seen the tea set displayed in his china hutch. I didn't recognize it until he mentioned where it came from. Because I admired it so much Daddy gave it to me. I guess it was bought in the 1960's when Daddy was in the Navy but I'm not sure where. I have never seen one like it. I love the delicate yellow roses on it. I wish there was a full set of china to go with it. Any who......this is my show & tell. Mama if you can remember anything else about it, leave it in the comments for me.
If you have something to show & tell go to Kelli's link at the bottom of my page & then you will see the details on how to enter your link to direct others to your "SHOW & TELL"!

With the loss of crops all over the South: THINGS ALWAYS TURN OUT BEST FOR THOSE WHO MAKE THE BEST OF THE WAY THINGS TURN OUT!

With the loss of lives at Virginia Tech.: GOD IS EQUAL TO EVERY SITUATION. HE IS EVER-PRESENT, NEVER-FAILING AND ALL SUFFICIENT.

We have no idea what GOD is up to in all of this mess! HOW dare I put HIM in a box! We are clueless to how HE is working in every situation that HE allowed to happen! I will wait with thanksgiving & praise to see HIS MIGHTY works!

HERE KITTY-KITTY-KITTY!!!

I went to Wild Adventures in Valdosta last week with my nieces and nephew. It is like a mini Six Flags but it has a small zoo too. It is a pretty nice place & I think over the years it will get better.
I am a Cat person. Wild Cats especially amaze me. What I would give (probably an arm or two..literally..after it was ripped from my body) to pet a big cat like a LION on the bridge of its nose! Oh & the paws....they just need to be touched too!! I want to really bad!! Maybe when I grow up I will be a lion tamer!!

I took these pictures of the cats...they were not moved by ANYTHING! They just laid around and WOULD NOT get up for nothing or nobody! I wanted to see the male get up & walk around but he just slept. I couldn't even see his face. Now this female would roll over every now & then so I got a decent shot of her.

Hope yall have a good weekend....I have to work the next 3 days!!

NUTHIN MUCH.......................

After talking to my brother for a long time today, I was left thinking and praying about some things that have been bothering me for a while. Sometimes it is so very hard not to let your focus be on the negative. If worry could kill I would be like Lazarus on the 4th day ...I would "Stinketh"! Anyway...there is so much negative to steal your focus. In the midst of it today I thought about how many positive things that are going on in my life too. The correct term would be to call them what they are and that is B-L-E-S-S-I-N-G-S!! My spiritual Daddy says..."You have to be intentional about things". He is right. So I am intentionally going to think of some BLESSINGS this afternoon.
Just a few....I'm thankful for my Mama & my brother. I'm thankful for my spiritual Daddy that always has time for me, no matter what. A husband that puts up with my weirdness and still loves me. I'm thankful for feeling like me again. Oh I could go on & on...I'll stop here. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME....ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD!

The pictures are of a new teapot I recently bought...from K-Mart on sale & A box full of letters from friends & family & some other stuff. Some blessings.

Like the lack of rain aint enough then we had to get some freezing temps for a few days! The pecan trees had already put on tender leaves & some were ready to pollinate. The young trees are burnt & much of the bigger trees top growth are burnt also. The big trees should fair better but I dont know if we will have a crop or not. Danny is worried about the young trees living. Danny called the county extension man to ask his opinion of it all. Well he had only seen a freeze like this once in his life...so who knows. The blueberry farmers are in a pickle too! They already had fruit on their plants! DRY!! Oh my it is sooo dry here. We haven't had any rain since March the 1st & our water table has been low for a few years now. Well there is one thing about it all....GOD knows what we need before we ask. I wonder how many of the farmers have murmured but not ASKED?! I think I'll do a mental check of that when I'm beating around hear. I will make it a priority to ask the farmers if they have ASKED GOD for rain. You never know what will come out of it all!

I tried to write an Easter post several times but I just couldn't. Too much to express! I love Easter & I love reading the scripture that tells about Jesus' sacrifice for me. So let me ask yall a question. When you read scripture do you frequently imagine yourself back in those days...like what would you do or how you would act if you were there when Jesus was crucified? I think about things like that all the time when I read the Bible. Another thing I imagine is how would that particular event take place now in this day & time.

"I was watching Fox news Friday & heard that they killed a man over in Jerusalem. They nailed the fella to a giant cross & let him hang there until he died. A reporter was doing interviews with folks over there & half of the people said this guy named JESUS was crazy, that he was demon possessed and wanted to be the President of their country...they said he wanted to be the ruler over the entire world! Can you believe that? Then the reporter was talking to some other people that said this JESUS fella was a really good man...perfect of a matter of fact & that he was sent by GOD!! Well I dont know what to think! Did any of yall hear that story on the news?"

So sometimes I think about things like that. I dont know why. My husband does not go to church with me. When I'm going to the sun rise service I always tell Danny that I'm going to see the stone rolled away. One year Danny asked me did I see Jesus. I told him that when I got to the grave yard that JESUS' body was missing & while I was calling the police JESUS showed up & told me to go home & tell Danny that HE will see him in a minute so that Danny could stick his fingers in the holes in HIS hands!

I love Easter, I love Good Friday! I guess what I'm trying to say is that the Bible is personal to me. The cross was personal to me. JESUS is personal to me. I love HIM & I am forever in debt to HIM but He said I dont owe a thing!
"He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. Romans 4:25"
