I love Spring!!!

There's white perch fishin and then bass fishin & TURKEY SEASON!! Monday Danny & I went to see if we could get us a bird. It was foggy & we couldn't get the gobbler to come down from the trees. He flew from tree to tree. Yesterday there were 3 toms competing to get to my decoys first. It is an amazing thing to hear the deep tone of a swamp bottom gobbler yelling his head off. Then to see him & his competitors vie for the hen at hand...ahhh! The joy! Any who...it was a good morning! We went this morning but we could barely get a turkey to yerp. Go figure! It was still nice to be in the woods as the world was waking up. Oh he had an 8 inch beard & some serious spurs!

Revee & her family just acquired 3 new additions to their family....pretty little cocker spaniel puppies. Well about 3 weeks ago I ended up with a new addition too. I was coming home & found this cutie in the middle of the road. No mama, no siblings, and NO one would claim her in the area. So I took her home. Despite trying to name her...she keeps getting called "Little Girl". Gandalf does not like her one bit...I thought he would get use to her but so far it is a NO GO! Danny didn't like her either & he still tries to act like he doesn't like her but he has been heard in the early morning hours talking to her & has been caught loving on her too. What kind is she.......well a SOONER I reckon, sooner or later we will figure out what she aint! She does have big feet!

GOOD MORNING!!!!

This is the meanest Rooster known to man! I have complained about him often. You can never turn your back on him because he will flog you with the quickness with them big-old spurs he's got. Kevin was working outside a few weeks ago, minding his own buiseness when "Attack Rooster" had snuck up behind him & started flogging him in the back of his legs. Danny & I were gone at the time. When we got home we found rooster had been duck taped! Kevin snatched him up & wrapped his spurs & legs with duck tape! It was so funny! I should have gotten a picture of him. Rooster would run up behind you & try to flog you but it didn't hurt a bit with the duck tape on. LOL!! I guess Kevin started feeling sorry for him at some point & took the tape off. Yeah that Rooster is a mean one but he sure can crow!!!!

I have never seen this type of bird at my feeder before. He hung out there all day Sunday. From bird book it looks like it is a cow bird but I wouldn't think a cow bird would eat seeds. Do yall have any idea?

SIN IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING IN THE WORLD;YOU JUST CANT AFFORD IT!!

While we were fishing at the lake, we got to see some beautiful eagles. There were so many. It was amazing to see them hunt for fish. They would catch fish when we were not. You could always see one sitting high up in a tree at the edge of the lake. What a majestic bird!

This is the double fireplace in the lodge at Dorchester Plantation where I went quail hunting the other day. You can sit on either side of it & it was just as pretty on the other side as the one you see here. I love a real fireplace!! I couldn't resist taking a picture of the big old piney-wood-rooter's head! Wouldn't it be great to have a head like that hangin in your livin room!!!

It has been a long and busy week! My youngest started a new job this week and his hours caused me to make some adjustments around here. The farm truck tore-up on us this week. After taking it to be fixed, thinking it was, going & getting it...then finding out it was in worse shape and by far fixed....we had to take it back again. TIME CONSUMING!! Spring has sprung here so things will get hopping soon enough! It hasn't been a bad week....just busy! Afterall, I did get to go fishing at the river yesterday morning....didn't get a bite but it was fun & I went to a new spot I'd never been before. My fav-o-rite great neice had her 4th bithday party yesterday afternoon and I enjoyed that too. The pictures are from the quail hunt I went on at Dorchester Plantation a couple weekends ago. A dog on point. Danny's brother & a buisness partner shooting at a covey of quail. OH that was sooooo much fun & I cant wait to go back!!
