This is the meanest rooster known to man!! I visited a young lady's blog yesterday that was raising some chicks. It got me to thinking about my rooster. I bought him as a chick in February and he is just about full grown. I remember the first time I heard him crow and I have to say, a fine crower he is...but mean!! I have never had anything as mean as him. I think you can see it in his eyes too. So did Jesus use the rooster to remind Peter of his failures because He knew how mean the rooster was? Just a thought but I dont think there is any truth in it. I have had many roosters before and all of them have been mild mannered. This rooster of mine has tried to attack me while I was still on my golf cart. He poofs up and runs side ways at me! He doesnt seem to be as mean to my husband. HUMMMM? Well the rooster is not all bad. I have to say he is very protective of his women (hens) and is not afraid of anything. Maybe he will do after all.We will see!

Maybe you could keep some cracked corn or other treat for him. My roosters are very protective of their "women", but are not mean at all to humans. We had one mean rooster before we moved from Florida. He went into the stew pot as children were in the yard where he was. He would attack all human beings. They can be dangerous if there are children around. If they spur them, they can get high enough to get their eye.

Im just not sure what his problem is with me but he really doesnt like me at all. He is a little better with my husband. He want eat anything from my hand. I had flip flops on yesterday & he pecked me twice on my foot. Normaly everything on the hill likes me & responds better to me than anyone else. My pet turkey is VERY protective of me! LOL! When he grows spurs I guess we will have to remove them or else Mr Rooster may become chicken & dumplings!

My grandmother used to have a really mean rooster named Lonely that always pecked our feet every time we went over there. That rooster died many, many years ago but, as you can see, the memory lives on!
