What a Pretty Color

I love the color of brown eggs! My husband even agreed that it is just gorgeous.

So last week we had a double yoker, well what about this tiny Rhode Island Red egg? Cute huh?

Beautiful Morning

Up early this morning. I think my cold is about licked. The fire chases away the chill from last night.

And can you believe a DOUBLE YOKER!! My granddaughter was thrilled.

Gotta get busy now. Pecans to harvest!

Home Grown

The mustard greens are a few weeks ahead of the turnips but that's ok with me. I had a ball digging up our sweet potatoes with my bare hands. Nothing like a good Southern meal.

Now if I could only kick this cold that's lingering.....if only.

All Work and No Play?

Not at this house!

Farm girl doesn't mind doing her share of picking up pecans. Then it's fun with Play-Doh.

What a life!

Oh and to explain the sticker....a new Piggly Wiggly just opened near us. Our excitement for the day was to check out the new store!

Gotta get your kicks some way huh?! Lol!

Harvest

It's what we've worked for all year. Now is the time to bring in the harvest, to reap the benefits of my husbands labor, the graciousness of God.

It's all grown right here on our little farm.

Perfect Fall Weather

Just a few more grapes are left on the vine. The mustard greens are taking off. It's beautiful here.

That's how I feel today. The weather is perfect. Blue bird sky, cool temps. The young humming birds are still here and are very playful. With the windows up I can here them buzzing around outside. I have been putting up apple pies today. I may try making some apple butter. An apple cobbler is on the menu for supper!

Danny and my granddaughter brought me these beautiful flowers! I love them!

A Fall Evening

The temperature is going to drop tonight. I'm thankful. Tomorrow's high is expected to be 75! I will take it! We are shaking pecan trees this weekend so it's going to be great harvesting weather.

In the meantime we are enjoying some front porch sitting with lantern light.

So what Fall inspired plans do you have for the weekend?

God Inspired

This afternoon's rain brought a magnificent view from our front porch. Double rainbows over the pecan orchard! Just prior to that, we were eating supper. Danny had made the comment that he was blessed way more than he had ever prayed for.

How profound! How true!

And then we find Double Rainbows over our home.

Why is that? I'm just sayin......

Ahhhhh......

I love mums! All kinds, any kind!

Welcome FALL!

We made a trip to North Georgia the first of the week to get some fresh apples. We couldn't resist a visit to a few others places. Burt's Pumpkin Farms was beautiful! Hope you're having a great Autumn beginning.
