BLUE BIRDS

Tuesday morning I was sitting on my back porch reading & I kept seeing something moving again & again out of the corner of my eye. I looked up to see a pair of blue birds working together like a team building a nest inside a box. The box has been up for 3 years with ZERO activity. I have always thought it was too close to the house & the tree it is on is right by the pond. NOT a place for blue birds to make their home BUT HUSBAND put it there!! Well I guess its not as bad a spot as I thought. I got a real kick out of that pair of birds. They worked so hard carrying each piece of straw or other nesting material piece by piece. Waiting patiently for the other to come out of the box. Now I dont speak blue bird language so I dont know if there was any fussing & fighting going on or not. Either way...it never stopped their work. I watched them all day from inside & out. I hope to see some babies soon. Just like life....you never know who's watching you.

Tina, your bluebird guests are so pretty! I've only seen one in real life once and it was very far away so I enjoyed these pictures! You'll have to keep us updated on the babies!

This is so nifty! I HAVE to get my bluebird houses up. I keep procrastinating. We see bluebirds here regularly, but I don't have my houses up...

Good pictures! I'm wondering where you got the houses. Did Travis make them?

Tina...glad you woke up. I have missed you. Yes, I love the bluebirds, too! the mountain bluebirds here do not have the reddish brown on the stomache...can you imagine them...solid beautiful blue...so perfect for our perfect Ozark Mtns.

We have had good rains. My sweet tators from Tenn. half died though. Internet is not the place to buy your plants...he sent 100 more and most of them died. The GA jets made it and they had better be good or Dot will hear about it...because she is why I ordered them!!!

Tina, we can learn so many lessons from the birds....I've had a wren nest in a flower pot outside my kitchen window and I've watch Mama Bird bringing food to her babies throughout the days....singing to them continually, checking on them so diligently...she raised them and now they've flown away and I miss them and her. I'd like to know that I am as faithful to my family as she was to hers.....thanks for the visit to my blog...Betty

Your bluebirds are beautiful.....

Tina, bluebirds and hummingbirds are my very favorite. My son made me a bluebird house for Mother's Day. He is going to try and put it up tonight!! Great pictures as usual.

They are beautiful. How wonderful that you were there to see them building there home, and that you were able to take such wonderful pictures.

Oh how exciting!! They are beautiful. Are these eastern bluebirds? They look a little different than our western ones. That is so amazing that the birdhouse sat empty for years and now you have renters! :o) Keep those photos coming and I hope you get some of the babies eventually. I don't know where our bluebirds nest. We see them around once in a while. All the english sparrows have taken over the bird houses.

Tina, that's really sweet...we love watching our birds & bunnies both. It is amazing how tenacious birds can be when building those nests.
