A SPOT OF TEA?
Last year when we went to stay at the Coast, Little Package and I went roaming. We stopped in at the Mad Hatter Teashop in St. Mary's for a snack. One of the items that caught my sweet tooth was the "cream" they served with the scones. That stuff was GOOD!!
I asked for the recipe and tried to replicate it without success. Simple ingredients of heavy cream, powdered sugar and vanilla. What I think I did wrong was NOT whipping it.
I have been researching it on the Internet. Of course this "cream" that I like is suppose to be a substitute for Devonshire Cream or Clotted Cream which we CAN NOT get in my neck of the woods AT ALL!
I am going to try again to whip up some of this heavenly spread. Can I say...I am craving it!!!
I've never made scones from scratch but I feel like that will be pretty simple.....we will see.
Did yall have a good weekend?
It was cold and wet Saturday and just plain cold yesterday but clear skies.

Tina, that looks like a lovely place and the sun was shining there too. I miss that! I'd love to try that cream and when you perfect it I hope you'll share the recipe. I've made simple scones a couple of times but my daughter makes wonderful orange cranberry scones. It can be tricky; I think I work mine too much. There are some wonderful Youtube videos on making scones. Let us know how that goes. Your pictures are great.
Hope your day goes well, Debbie
I have made homemade scones before and they were really good...your creme sounds wonderful let us know how that goes for you!
Its sunny here...we re going to play in the snow this afternoon before it melts!
Oh Tina your post made my mouth water....
I make scones almost every weekend...my family loves them! They are super easy to make, the trick is to not over mix them so they don't become too tough. Let us know how they turn out. xx
My mouth is watering, these look so good!
Darn my stupid wedding diet ;-)
Yum! That looks great. I have made scones before and they're really easy, I think.
Sorry for mentioning bad employee behavior on my blog again. I couldn't help it w/ that one. I just hope I don't say stupid things like that. haha I am often tempted to stay in the house vs. going out, too. Oh, how I wish I could do it. :)
OMGoodness!! That's been our favorite hangout too! Did you see that post? :) I love the Mad Hatter and their exotic teas and unbelievably heavenly scones. YUM! We outta meet down there sometime. Hubby and I motorcycle down, then go shopping. I love old books and visit all the stores I can find.
God bless to you and yours.

That looks soooo good. I have to say I have never had clotted cream.
I have an award for you at my place.
I found you through Susanne's blog, but it is always great to find other Georgia bloggers. I'm in a small town near Statesboro after growing up in the Savannah area.
